Soaring Spirit Artworks
Commissioned Work

The word INSPIRE from it's Latin root means to put spirit into.

The paintings below are just a few examples of my commissioned works.

Several of my commissioned paintings were for women who have participated in a group based on Jamie Samm's book the Thirteen Original Clan Mothers. Each woman represents a clan mother and the lessons she came to teach us. The painting illustrates the clan mother’s specials lessons for the 2-leggeds (us) and her 4-legged and feathered helpers in those lessons. Other commissioned works often depict aspects within the client that reflect who they feel they are and symbols that bring them personal inspiration.

Commissioned work is certainly the best way to sell a painting because the client already wants the work before it is created, and lets face it, selling work supports my creative addictions! While commissioned work can be very satisfying, I have found that it can also be stifling to the flow of my own inner vision. Because of that, I made the decision to not accept any commissioned work in the future.

Angel Playing With the Hummingbirds
How do you know if she's an angel or fairy? Angels have bird wings and fairies have butterfly wings. Well, in my paintings they do!
