My First Horse Lesson
My First Horse Lesson is now in it's third year! Many thanks to all who have made it so.
We offer a program for children starting as soon as they can walk and follow simple directions. We work with anyone wanting to learn about horses, but focus on younger students who are unable to get lessons or interactions with horses anywhere else.
Our horses are kid-friendly miniature horses. They are handled regularly by adults and children.
Children learn to catch, halter, lead, groom, saddle the horses. Lead line rides are given for students weighing less than 70 pounds. Our focus is on all-around handling and behavior around horses, and we are flexible in working with students based on their level of interest and capability.
