Get Those Bats Out of My Bellfry!

Our Super-Hero Scooter Man builds a bat house,
then single-handedly overcomes the evil forces of gravity!



After several years of research and contemplation I ordered the official Bat House Kit. It came with everything but the front piece (wouldn't you just know it... here's my sign). I built it according to specs (they emiled me the specs for the front). This house acomadates 300 bats!

Now, for a pole. I put on my super hero hat, jumped on my trusty scooter, went into the canyon and chopped down a tree. I scraped, sanded and painted it with kreosote then attached the Bat house to it. Now, for the fun part... getting it in place.


Near the foot of the pole is a hole (tough digging I can tell you!). The idea is to stand the pole in the hole...


Here Scooter-man rigged the winch around a tree and to the pole. Cross braces are ready to help prop it as it goes up. (see the band on the pole?) Now.... up she goes!


Part way up and the braces go under for support. Hmmm, maybe Scooter Man should get Rumi to help here...?
... NAH!
Up some more, move the support farther down the pole, winch some more and we got it... right?
Shoooooot.... this thing is heavy! I don't think the winch is going to hold it... too top heavy... maybe if I dug a channel to the hole? I think maybe this is a job for Blue!


Ok, so while Rumi was not taking pictures anymore... it rolled and fell. Everything is ok.... but I need to go to plan B, and bring out the BIG GUNS... Blue!
